The Best Neutral Front Porch Fall Décor | Kirkland’s

This is that time of year when us desert rats are envious of everyone who actually feels the temps dropping and leaves changing, heightening the anticipation of fall.

We can still bake cookies on the dash of our car (and if you think I’m exaggerating, Google it). However, I still firmly believe that if I decorate for fall when the rest of the country starts, it will make Fall in Arizona happen faster. Hasn’t worked yet, but I’m not a quitter!

Mr. CG and I have spent the last three years updating the interior of our house and finally got to focus on the exterior this year, so for the first time in my adult life I have a front entry that I’m excited to decorate through the seasons. This is big time excitement over here and exactly why I’m anxious to share the best neutral front porch fall décor from Kirkland’s Harvest Collection with YOU - my lovely readers!

WHERE TO BEGIN

Decorating can get expensive and time consuming if you don’t plan ahead, so to make sure I stay on budget and don’t waste time driving all around town I like to begin new projects with a mood board.

If you’re not familiar with mood boards or why you should use them, then hop over to this post for the 4-1-1 on that.

With my newly painted black doors and Swiss Coffee exterior, I knew I wanted to stick with neutral front porch fall décor to play off the contrast of the existing black and white because I love the organic feel of neutrals.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

I tend to find one item I love that I want to build the rest of my design around. In this case it was the Tall Fall Plank Plaque.

They have SO many cute fall doormats to choose from this season! I had my eye on a different one but once I plugged it into my mood board I didn’t love it, which is why I chose this one instead. That’s precisely why I start with a mood board. It’s much more convenient to figure out what works together before I spend time shopping and avoid the possibility of making multiple trips to return and try different options.

Since I was keeping my fall décor neutral, I fell in love with the wooden pumpkins and also knew they’d withstand our heat better than traditional pumpkins. It was a no-brainer.

Knowing I had the ground covered and doors flanked with décor I wanted to draw the eye up now by adding a couple of fall wreaths; however, I was hesitant…

I recently painted the doors and I didn’t want to scratch up the paint on either side by putting the galvanized metal wreath hangers on them, so I put my problem solving hat on and came up with a solution.

I used the soft side of a Velcro strip and a few felt pads to create a barrier in between the metal and the door.

The exterior of my door is black and the interior is white, so I went with a light felt pad on the inside and dark on the outside so the light didn’t rub off on dark - and vice versa.

Worked like a charm!

Lastly, the right side of the door needed a little balance so I decided to add the “Hello Fall” Pumpkin Flag Set at the last minute, which is why you don’t see it on my mood board. ;)

All-in-all, I think Kirkland’s Harvest Collection has the perfect selection of items to help transition your decor from summer to fall. Their accessories range from subtle to over-the-top festive, which seamlessly fits into just about any decor style.

I couldn’t be happier with how my neutral front porch fall décor turned out! Now, if the weather would just follow suit we’d be in business.

Happy Fall Y’all!
