10 Minute Every Day Makeup (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

If you're a product junkie that enjoys spending tons of money on makeup products you barely use and you like spending more than 10 minutes to put on a full face of makeup every day, then this video tutorial probably isn't for you. However, if you lead a busy life and would love to simplify your makeup stash, spend less money on makeup and speed up your routine, then you definitely want to watch this...

Let me start out by saying that this post is NOT sponsored. The only reason I made this tutorial was by popular request on Instagram. I'm not even kidding when I tell you that after I switched to Maskcara a few months ago, I get a handful of DM's every time I do an Instagram story asking what makeup I use. Sure, it would be easy to just tell you but that honestly doesn't do this product justice because it is not like anything else I've ever used.

I have crappy skin. No lie. After my second child (13 years ago) I got adult acne and melasma pretty bad. Yay me. Melasma is also known as pregnancy mask, and some women have a few spots here and there... nope, not me. It's on my whole-damn-face and it looks like someone smeared poo all over it - LOL.

Before my second child I never wore foundation. Hated it, in fact. It felt heavy, it felt cakey and I just didn't need it.

As shallow as it may sound - dealing with melasma has been quite the challenge. While most people dealt with skin problems through puberty, I was late to the party and dealt with it when I thought I was in the clear! For the first time in my life I felt insecure without makeup and I had to wear foundation to cover it up. Blah! I still hated the feel of liquid foundation, and cream based makeups weren't enough coverage. I tried bleaching creams, acne prescriptions, microneedling, facials, and the list goes on. You can do things to help lighten melasma but it's hormonal so the things that help are pretty harsh and I didn't want to continue to put that stuff on/in my body and decided I just had to live with it. Within the last year I've embraced it and will finally leave the house without makeup. I figure if people don't like it, they can look away.

After years of trying so many products and wasting so much money, I finally found a powder foundation a few years ago that I liked by Makeup Forever that would cover the brown areas and not make me break out. Oh, did I mention I also have oily skin so the powder wouldn't last and I'd have to touch up (A LOT) throughout the day. By the end of the day I felt like I had 3 inches of makeup on my face.

I only tell you this because Maskcara is the first cream based makeup I've found that:

  1. Doesn't clog my pores
  2. Doesn't require me to retouch (I just blot if I get oily, but I don't retouch)
  3. Covers my melasma and acne scarring
  4. Gives me a dewy glow
  5. Isn't heavy
  6. Doesn't cost a fortune
  7. Takes 10 minutes or less
  8. Makes doing my makeup fun again!

After so many years of makeup feeling like a daunting process, this is the first time I actually look forward to applying it! I go through my highlight and contour the quickest since that goes all over my face, and just got low enough to order replacement tins (3 months later), and they are only $14/each. The Makeup Forever powder I was using was $38 every few months.

Another thing I love about Maskcara is their amazing brushes. Such high quality and every thing is double ended so that cuts down on quantity as well. I went from having a huge makeup box to everything fitting in the smallest drawer in the bathroom - brushes and all!

The items pictured above are all you need for a full face:

  1. 30 Second HAC Brush
  2. IIID Perfector Sponge
  3. Highlight
  4. Contour
  5. Illuminator
  6. Blush

This is what I started with and have slowly added as I got more comfortable with the products. I'll be honest, it took me a couple weeks to get used to the application process and figuring out how much to apply, etc. So if you try it, be patient, and give it a couple of weeks before forming your opinion.

The tins are magnetic, so all you do is buy new tins and replace them in your compact. When you buy a certain number of singles, a compact is free. It was the best $100 I've ever spent on makeup to replace 99% of the other products under my sink.

Lastly, because the colors are so versatile it allows us Maskcara artists to color match you from anywhere on the globe - with a selfie! But not just any selfie - there are rules so we can get it right. If you're interested in giving it a try then feel free to reach out to contact me, and I'll tell you what I need for the selfie to complete your virtual color match. Check out products at www.maskcarabeauty.com/givemethatglow. Their eye shadows are AMAZIIING!!

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below so I can answer them and other people can see them in case they have the same question. If you don't have any questions, then leave a comment to tell me what you think of all this new knowledge you have about the makeup that will get you excited about makeup again!

Love this Christina! I needed all these tips!

I'm so glad you found it helpful, Tammy!! xo

Ummmm this looks amazing!

It truly is, Jayme! I think you would love it, and probably appreciate how quick it is since you have little ones! xo

I love this information! AND, your face looks amazing! No one could tell there isn't everything beautiful that you might be hiding a little of something! I also have started using Maskcara , about 3 months ago. I am trying to hide the "ages" . 70 years of a fun life! And, like you --, I have thrown out a ton of expensive products that weren't doing anything towards hiding my years. I love this! And since I leave home at 5 am, 3 days a week, I can now do this in minutes with my eyes half open! Thank you, Maskcara!

A thousand times YES!! And it looks so beautiful on your skin too!!

Ok!!!!! I NEED THIS!! Bad. It covered so well and yet seems so light too. I have red spots and scars myself so this is great. Thanks Christina! @ashleysdecorspace_ --

That's exactly what it is! And versatile, and fast, and the list goes on - hahaha! I think you'd love it!

Oh I love it!! I really need it!!

Yes!! Every woman does!!

Every single thing you said is how I feel about make up!!! I can relate 100%! I need something that is lightweight that will stay all day that looks and feels natural. My skin decided to revisit my teen years after having a kid too, uneven skin tone, malasma, sun spots, oil and dry patches... it's frustrating... I don't like to take selfies or be in photos anymore unless photoshop has been used or there is a filter!! LOL! All the transformations I've seen and tutorials I've watched, makes me want to dive in and get started!!!

Yes! I get your frustration, girl!! You should definitely try Maskcara then. I just ordered their skin care line too and am anxious to try it.

C! You’ve always been beautiful, with or without makeup! But I gotta admit, this does look fun!

Thank you V! I appreciate that. It definitely is a lot of fun to do my makeup again. :)

This looks so easy! I've never really done makeup because it always looks so intimidating and time consuming. Maybe it's really not that bad! I'll have to check this out.

This is definitely the way to go!!
